CED 505: Teaching Technology and
Learning Theory

Course Descriptions
This class is designed to provide practical, effective ways to integrate technology resources and technology-based methods into instructional settings, both in the classroom and corporate training. Topics include current theories of cognition and learning, cognitive load theory, effective teaching practices for both traditional age and adult learners, and reflective teaching as these topics are related to technology use. Emphasis is place on using technology to produce a cognitive-active approach to learning and to design questioning strategies that develop critical thinking. Learners connect theories of teaching and learning to the use of technology in a variety of instructional settings, including the "flipped classroom." Learners develop professional alignments with national standards.
