IDT 595: Culminating Project and Capstone Portfolio

Course Description

This course is designed to introduce or extend learner’s knowledge of the instructional applications of computers and technology. Research into the most current curriculum theory and development will be used to model educational activities in order to enhance instruction. Recognition and design of specific technological applications and resources will be emphasized in order to produce practical instructional and professional applications.

In addition, the course will be used as a means to create the learner’s Capstone Portfolio for the Masters LT and IDT programs. The Capstone Portfolio consists of an electronic compilation of archives from each of the courses completed in the program, in addition to the individual’s letter of introduction, professional goals and objectives, resume, educational technology philosophy and reflections, an individual assessment of the MSLT / MSIDT Program Goals and Objectives, and an Exit survey.

  • Introduce or identify software designed to enhance learning – with special emphasis on utilization of integrated software components: word processing, database, spreadsheet, graphic organizers, Internet, hypermedia, draw/desktop publishing, and current online technologies.   • Reflect on the MSCE degree process and assess his/her involvement in the MSCE program. (NETS•T 1, 2, 3, 4, 5)
